    • @Darkling-g1c he kinda doesn’t.

      Some of the stuff he’s talking about are downright poison. i.e. Tofu.

      Not going to get too deep into it here, but there are very valid reasons the term ‘soy boy’ exists. And in fact, one heck of a lot of people are healthy protein deficient. Most overweight couch potatoes for example.

    • @@vegangames3468 I just stated one of the most basic things about nutrition. That most people happen to overlook, because they are brainwashed as to what protein even is.

    • @@DRourk you have a warped idea about protein. You used the word remotely which is an exaggeration, and yet there is robust evidence to show there are no extra muscle gains from eating animal protein when eating the SAME amount of plant protein.

  1. As you pointed out in one of your previous videos, it’s not just the weight that counts but lean body mass. When you say 0.8 g of protein per pound of bodyweight, you really mean a lean person. For example, somebody like you, with 10 to 15% body fat. What was not clear from this video how do you recalculate the amount of protein needed for somebody who is 30% fat? Or for somebody who is 40% fat? Could you clarify this in the comments section?

  2. Why are people on YouTube saying that protein is bad?
    They call people who promote high protein diets the
    protein pushers, they sound so convincing that sometimes I don’t know who to believe

    • Depends what’s your definition of “bad”. High protein intake (especially animal protein) is related with activation of mTOR and IGF-1, which is proven increases risk of cancer and affects longevity prognosis negatively. But if your “bad” is not winning bodybyuilder show or not gain enough weight for your sports role (e.g. Americal football player).

    • I would say high protein is better if you want to get bigger faster and don’t care about how long you’re gonna live. Lower protein diets are better for the increasing health span (staying younger longer). Why is this. They have less amino acids like methionine and aspartic acid which kick on mtor. Mtor is not the enemy and it’s useful if regulated properly. But slamming down protein night and day and every hour in-between is a recipe for early death. You can eat more protein but you’re gonna have to restrict certain amino acids which can get a bit annoying if information differs from sources. Who this clears up the confusion a bit.

    • You cannot in good faith say “All the evidence” unless you’ve only seen a small subset of evidence disproportionately favoring one narrative and then mistake that for “all”.

  3. 100g in one meal clearly the ones asking that haven’t tried OMAD. I’m so glad that new study came out end of last year showing more than 100g as a mixed meal can be used for MPS bc it just digests slowly. I put psyllium with my early protein shake to extend the MPS window and some days when it’s just 2 meals (one is the shake), 1lb of chicken breast & 6 eggs & various other foods hit an extra 200g in one meal. Otherwise I try to get at least 3 & if lucky 4 meals. It’s really hard to be busy and have more than 1 meal tho, but harder to get 3g/kg whole food. Thanks again siim!

  4. I heard WolfCoaching‬ and Renaissance Periodization talk about a meta analysis from 2022 by Tagawa that sets the g/lb higher than the Morton study. The video was called “We Were All Wrong About Protein Intake?” for anyone interested. Gotta check the study out myself though too.

  5. WT* is going on with here. last time I checked the subscriber count a couple of years ago it was about 18k only . Im also pretty pretty sure Siim was older than his current videos. Keep doing whatever youve ve been doing man (unless its some shady age-backwords deal you did with the devil.
