  4. Hi Dr. Berg, This so surreal. I just started about a couple of weeks ago oil pulling (some people use coconut oil, I preferred extra virgin olive oil) and now you put up this video. Kismet, I think so. I originally started because I read the EVOO was good for the teeth and whitened them. Now instead of just doing the oil pulling I will also add the EVOO a couple of tablespoons with this added knowledge. Thank you – Also EVOO is great for the hair.

  5. Dr Berg, here in Australia it is illegal to promote diluted olive oil as ‘first cold pressed’. The fines are enormous. Cold pressed olive oil always comes in dark bottles because it is light sensitive. If the oil is in clear glass then you know that solvents have been used to extract the oil. The solvent is later removed from the oil before bottling.

      They’re wrong about that. It’s a good natural fat, fully compatible with and good for the human body. And that’s history proven for sure. The traditional (original) Mediterranean diet included significant usage of olive oil, and that diet is widely acknowledged as healthy and beneficial.

    • Here on the Moon we have the best olive oil, it comes in the best container with perfect sunlight protection – the olive fruit itself! Those olives are clean from chemicals, because we have no plants, no stores, no humans, no youtube.

I’m usually very happy, calm and content. Tonight I’m on a high! – this arvo made my first ever batches of home made soap! lol. Using you guessed it, my own rendered tallow, virgin coconut oil and the best olive oil. With lemon and lavender essential oils no less.

      That’s great!. Another thing about local supply is fresh product – no supply chain delays leading to old degraded oil. Fresh is always healthier. I have an olive tree actually but not planted yet. Will get there.

  7. I’m a southern european man and I’ve been in a Mediterranean diet all my life. There are numerous benefits in extra virgin olive oil, specially for men.
    I’m lucky enough to get mine directly from the producer.

  8. Thanku Dr. We were using but stopped , basically because of fake olive oil. Here in Mumbai (India) several brands have cropped up. Confusing me, atleast. Olive oil is also of varied colours……light olive green, sun yellow, light yellow . Brands are always getting added. Since u hv given tips to know the real oil, let’s see how much we can find out.   9. I eat about 140 grams a day of extra virgin olive oil. During the last 3,5 months, following just Dr. Berg’s advice on ketogenic diet, and no more than a 20 minute daily exercise, not under 1,500 calories/day definitely, I’ve lost 9 kilos already, going from overweight to just slightly overweight. Getting this down to an extra ten kilos, until I get no more than 70 kilos, for a height of 178 cm

    • @Janne Blom Cretans used to eat way more than that, in fact, about 140 grams daily. I bet that Italians did the same, when they were physically active, as farmers or in a pastoral life. That diet has deteriorated since the early 90’s in Crete, towards western patterns. I eat the same amount, and lose a little less than a kilo weekly, with a maximum of 20 minute exercise daily. So, 150 grams of daily consumption of extra virgin olive oil, get me to lose that amount of weight. But, don’t forget, i eat no starch, no sugar, having followed that routine, since 3,5 months ago. It doesn’t mean that, anyone eating 150 grams daily, would get similar results. I think that, if you’re strict with eliminating sugar altogether, and limit starch severely, you might as well get similar results. You’ll definitely feel and look healthier and younger.

    • theres other brands that are good… amazon sells alot. if near a big city you can find an olive oil store..in the USA we have them and they have holding containers like a keg which holds the oils..not all are peppery because it depends on the olive used.

There are a lot of people who are really interested in understanding how the systems in the body work and how they themselves can make changes to improve their health. It gives one a sense of being able to “do” something about their health.
    Watching the Olive Oil video your explanation of the taste of real olive oil made me think of the Organic Cold Pressed Black Cumin Seed Oil I take daily. (Nigella Sativa). Has that same spicy taste.
    In the Middle East they call it the cure for everything except death. I’ve heard good things about it
    and I was wondering if you could comment on its value as a healthy oil. Might it have similar properties to Olive Oil. Thanks for all you do. ☯️

  13. Dr Berg as always you are the best. Still hoping for a review of the book ‘This is Your Brain On Birth Control ‘ by Sarah Hall. You videos on birth control pills are great, women really need to know what that pill does to their bodies just trying to avoid pregnancy. However, everyone needs to know what artificial estrogen does to the enviroment. When you talk about artificial estrogen pollution, please give us what we can do to flush the pollutants from our bodies. Thank you Dr Berg for all you do.

  14. Dr Berg, I am a subscriber to your channel and have been watching your videos for some time now. I have gained a lot of excellent, easy-for-me to understand, information.

    Recently I switched from quality cold-pressed olive oil to quality cold-pressed avocado oil as I like the taste better and I have read on credible sites that avocado oil has the highest heat point for cooking.
    On salads, I do use this avocado oil with either balsamic or apple cider vinegar and I try to eat healthy salads daily.
    I think the benefits of avocado oil might be the same as you mention for olive oil but I am not sure. Could you comment? Thank you.

  15. I’m italian, grew up in an area with a rich production of olives and only had extra vergin olive oil for my entire life. So do all the people I have ever met in Italy. For us the properties of olive oil are well known. Then I moved outside of Italy and realized how unfamiliar people are with olives and x v olive oil.

  18. I learn to fast but a few years ago, from my father who died in 2017 at 93. Everybody in his life that he was related to and loved dearly died a cancer early. I mention all this because he got me on this path of doing all kinds of anti-cancer stuff in my life, including fasting. But you Dr Berg have made me more proactive and up what I do with much better results and I thank you for that from the bottom of my heart.
    I’m 71 and was hurt in a terrible timber falling accident that’s come back to haunt me in my older age. Along with a natural affinity to be a fat man due to the fact that when I was born I was immediately vsxed with polio and pneumonia, which took bones out of my ankle out of my knees and deform my back eck. And the list goes on from there on what problems I had because of the 2 vaxeses I was given in 1951
    In my early 60s I really started to go down the pathway that you teach about. And month fasting once a year save me from cancer and from being a genuine fat man 😆👍 Then in my young years I worked in the timber industry, and had a terrible timber falling accident that broke every bone in my body from the top of my head to my feet. I say that because my wellness doctor here in Yakima Washington, found that I had brakes in my frame from head to toe every 30 seconds of an inch. And my body was inundated with rheumatoid arthritis that was attempting to take over my system. Change my whole way of eating and started fasting once a year, and was able to change the paradigm that I’ve lived with all my life so that I feel better than I ever have. You have, through your teachings, made me even more intentional about taking care of my health in every respect. In other words you’ve got my game about 75%, meaning that you help me to make it a game that’s that much better. I feel better and I’m doing better right now than I have at any other time in my life, and so my thanks to you is profound.
    There is much more I can tell you about myself which is a living testimony to the fact that what you teach works. I’m getting ready to start another fast, but before I do I plan on getting a hold of you and your people to get more input. This is the 12th of November on Saturday and I’ll be getting a hold of you folks on Monday or Tuesday. Thank you from the bottom of my ‘ pea picking heart

  19. Thank you, Dr. Berg! I was considering buying MCI oil because I need to drop some weight but in watching some of your videos, I think I will try the olive oil and intermittent fasting. I have a heart condition and I have heard from some experts that coconut oil may not be the best option.
