In practice, I used an incredible acupressure technique to help open the sinuses. Today, I'm going to share how you can do this technique right at home.

If you have sinus congestion or your sinuses aren't draining, you can use this technique to help open your sinuses and breathe better.

Common causes of sinus problems are infections, a fungus growing in your sinuses, or a cheese allergy. If you have a sinus issue, you should avoid cheese and sugar to see if that clears the problem up.

Two of the best natural remedies for sinus congestion and other sinus issues are diluted kimchi juice and Spanish black radish.

Before you use this acupressure technique, check your sinuses by plugging one nostril with your finger and breathing in, and then repeat with the other nostril.

Rate how bad your sinuses are, and then give this acupressure technique a try. After you're done, check and rate your sinuses again—I think you'll notice a huge difference. Watch this video for a full demonstration of how to use acupressure to help open your sinuses.

  1. The good Lord knew I needed this! 😳♥️ it doesn’t matter how healthy I eat, my nose is always blocked on the side that I sleep.

    • I get that. The weird thing is, it’s not mucus moving under gravity. It’s the nostril closest to the pillow narrowing for some reason. Maybe it’s blood flow?

    • I suffered from severe chronic sinusitis for many years. I had polyps in my sinuses and deviated septum all causing major blockage. I had multiple surgeries to fix the problem. Surgery successfully fixed the problem, nothing else would have. I have met other people who delude themselves that they don’t need a surgical solution for sever sinus problems where there is structural blockage. After the surgeries, sinus rinses and sprays have been useful to me.

  2. As I’m up with my two year old since 4am who’s suffering with cough and congestion…right on time doc. Thanks!

  3. Before doing this technique, I could barely breath out of either nasal passage, I would rate it a 2. After holding these points for about 30 seconds; the improvement is amazing! I would rate it a 6-7. I had to do this on myself (awkward but it did help) …. I can only imagine how effective it will be when another person can apply the pressure!! Thank you so very much!

  4. Wow! I was sitting here with a head cold for the past 4 days with blocked sinuses, going through by YouTube subscriptions and Dr Berg is doing this video. I tried it on myself and it opened up my sinuses (particular right side that was worse) within 5 seconds. That was a weird sensation.

    • Same here. Been sick all week coughing till my head hurts and hips. Terribly stuffed up. Just did this. It works!

    • @Danny Michelle why would you clog up the doctors when there are people with real emergencies. Why always so dependent on going to someone else instead of learning to treat yourself if possible.

    • @Danny Michelle I don’t like to bother going to the doctors for a bad cold. It would just be a waste of everyone’s time and they’d likely just tell me to rest and take over the counter remedies. This gave me similar relief as taking sinutab but much faster and without needing to take medication. Very few channels i subscribe to are medical related so wasn’t searching for a remedy, it was just by chance.

    • @Danny Michelle Dr’s will only prescribe a pill. Now you have one more pill to take along with the other 10 you’ve been prescribed for other reasons.😒

  5. Dr. Berg, could you do a video on what the ideal multivitamin capsule should contain?

I personally supplement with D3+K2, B3, Fish Oil, Cod Liver Oil, C (from acerola) and Magnesium (1/3 taurate, 1/3 malate, 1/3 glycinate) as separate capsules, along with a basic multivitamin.

Having recently learned about how widespread vitamin products with poorly absorbed forms of vitamins are, and some of the things to look out for, I now see that most of the multivitamin products in stores are less than ideal. It makes me think that the producers themselves have little idea about what is good and what is bad.

Generally, I find it to be a bit of a jungle to figure out how much of the remaining vitamins and minerals is ideal, and from what form I should be getting it.

I imagine there are a lot of other people who watch this channel who feel the same!

  6. The timing of this video is impecable. My girlfriend and I just woke up and she had nasal congestion so I youtubed how to relieve her pressure and bam this video was up only 24 minutes before. Crazy. This method worked the best out of the 3 we got off youtube! Thanks Dr. Berg!

  7. This is why I love your channel Dr. Not only is it life changing advice but this technique worked for me in a matter of seconds where traditional remedies take days at a minimum. Very weird to try applying alone but it still worked lol

  8. This is the best and instant remedy followed by me ever since you taught us in your earlier video. This technique not only relieved sinus congestion but also relieved my allergic symptoms immediately whenever I’m prone to allergens without taking any anti_ histamine drugs. Thank you Dr Berg for teaching us this priceless technique.

    • I was forced to take ketotifen for 2years because I couldn’t breath properly , until I began having heart pains at the age of 20 ! Only Dr. Henry Bieler saved my life by his book translated in Romanian ( I don’t know the original name ,but the sense could be : “Proper Food – the Miracle of Healing” ! Recently I found out that Germany banned ketotifen ( anti-histaminic drug) , because of serious side-effects !!

    • @Dr. Eric Berg DC I have been suffering with severe ear pressure and lightheaded since 5 years. I have been many to many doctors who could not figure out reason for my dizziness and ear pressure. Is this the reason nasal congestion? Pls suggest a remedy doctor. Struggling a lot with dizziness.

  9. I followed the instructions but applied the pressure to myself; not easy but I somehow did it while sitting in my chair. Despite the fact that I had been stuffy all morning long, within a minute or so, my sinuses were open. Amazing. Thank you.

  10. Dr Berg, I just want to thank you for sharing all your gifts and knowledge. Your videos have helped me in several ways, and I’m sure you are reaching tens of millions. Most doctors nowadays are pill pushers – and not the natural supplement kind of pills either…

  11. I just turned on to this video…unbelievable I’ve had a cold for about a week with congestion lingering on…I tried your technique and wow! Yes it cleared my sinuses! Thank you Dr. Berg you’re a gem! 👍🏼

  12. Thank You Doc! I’m a retired Respiratory Therapist and my air movement has improved about 50% from being decreased to being open! Great technique!

    • @Dr. Eric Berg DC 🗽❤️🎶 my nose can breathe, but my ears are blocked by mukus . It happens every time after I finaly win flu and may stay up to 4 weeks What to do?Maybe it is allergies?
I have lived in South Florida for 11 years and noticed, that my body resists different sources of allergies much weaker now ,then when I had lived in NC and absolutely had no allergies. Thanks a lot Doctor Berg.

  13. Wow!! I am having sinus issues now. I am on antibiotics and see an ENT specialist next week. I swear Dr. Berg knows exactly what to post when I am going through something. Thank you for always keeping us informed Dr. Berg. I appreciate all you and your staff’s hard work🙂

  14. Just tried this and I can breathe normally! 🎉 Since moving to the desert 2 years ago, I’ve had the worst sinus problems. Thanks Dr. B!

  15. Dear God this works!!! I have awful allergies, and one nostril is almost always clogged. This worked! Thank you so much Dr. Berg 🙏🏾

  16. Helpful. Another thing that works for me when it’s an infection is about 1/2” (2 to 3 cm) of water in a coffee mug heated in the microwave for 30 to 60 seconds, depending on your microwave power. The water should be steaming but not bubbling. 2 or 3 drops of pure peppermint oil. Hold the mug near your chest and carefully sniff in the fumes. As the water cools, you’ll need to pull the mug closer to your nose. But be careful. Too much peppermint oil fumes will burn your olfactory glands. After about 5 minutes, you’ll be clearer for a while. It not only clears the nose, it reduces the infection.

  17. Hi Dr Eric. My wife, daughter and I are all sinus sufferers. I just finished watching your video and immediately tried the technique on my daughter. About 10 seconds in she said that her noise was getting more stuffy and then I remembered what you did with your elbow and made the slight adjustment. After another 10 seconds her nose was completely open, so it works! Thank you for all your great content. Kind regards, Alex

  18. Lacking anyone to help me, I tried this on my own applying pressure with each thumb in the spots you showed while watching this video. You’re right! Almost immediately I could take a deep breath, more freely than I imagined I could! I will absolutely keep this technique in mind b/c numerous times throughout the day I tend to feel stuffy. You continue to rock, Dr Berg!!!
