Let’s talk about the best meal you could eat to clean your arteries and reduce the risk of coronary heart disease.

The plaque that can build up in the arteries is a combination of calcium, protein, and cholesterol. In many cases, the calcium results from biofilms, which are colonies of microbes with something like a shell to protect themselves.

Biofilms tend to accumulate on roughened edges—if the arteries are smooth and strong, they probably won’t accumulate there. Lesions, oxidation, inflammation, or damage could lead to plaque in the arteries.

Typically, a person with clogged arteries will also have high LDL cholesterol (small-dense particle size LDL). Both arterial plaque and this type of LDL are correlated with a high-carb, high-sugar diet.

The best nutrients to support the cardiovascular system and reduce the risk of heart disease:
1. Vitamin K2
2. Vitamin C
3. Vitamin E
4. Omega-3 fatty acids

The best meal for your cardiovascular system:
• Wild-caught salmon
• Sauerkraut
• A large arugula salad with extra-virgin olive oil, apple cider vinegar, sunflower seeds, Parmigiano cheese, and garlic.

  1. If there was a global award for medical explanation, the Dr Berg would win it every year… the best on line doctor we all wish lived near us..🙂

  2. 2:20 The best way to prevent, slow down or reverse plaquing in the arteries:
    • Vitamin K2
    • High vitamin C foods
    • Vitamin E
    • Keep your Omega-6 fatty acids very low and keep your Omega-3 fatty acids very very high

5:13 The best foods for blocked arteries:
    • Wild-caught salmon
    • Sauerkraut (a fermented cabbage product): it’s loaded with vitamin K2, it’s also loaded with Vitamin C (7 times the RDA)
    • A big arugula salad with extra-virgin olive oil, apple cider vinegar (or red balsamic vinegar), sunflower seeds, Parmigiano cheese (get the authentic type from Italy), and garlic

    Thank you Dr. Berg
    Sincerely, 11 : 11 Meditation Portal Channel

    • @Chi Tukuravi for vegetarians, grass fed full cream dairy has bioavailable k2, so do free range egg yolks. As for vegans, well, they have plenty of problems, including d3/k2. Supplements are probably the best they can manage, but many people do not absorb them well, especially on a high carb & excessively high fibre diet. Vegan meals occasionally may be fine, but veganism is inadvisable as a long term exclusive diet.

    • Dear Dr Berg
Thank you for your life saving program. I am from Middle East and some of the names are not familiar to me thank you for this note that it has all important names (such as SauerKraut …) written so I can go find them by right name. I have all of the
High in BP, Sugar, Cholesterol, and dad TIA. Your programs are my savers.
      Thanks millions

    • so arugala doused and pesticides and synthetic vitamins your body cant absorb? your a sheep go get your booster shot

  3. Thanx Doc. Berg for patiently discussing w/ us Ur Lesson about the Importance of Vitamins & Minerals + the bacteria that hides in the mouth..Thank U very much..

  4. I’m italian and you just described an average northern italian meal. I find it a bit funny, because people all over the world think that we survive on pizza and pasta.

  5. I was talking to an Army nurse once…about brushing teeth.
How important it is to Soldiers in the field. It was common knowledge to the Army Medical teams to keep a look out for bad teeth and gums on incoming casualties.
Because…that meant the heart might have an issue..
Mouth health is related to heart health.

    • @Rugged Shark Nothing special. I brush my teeth twice a day and floss sometimes. I see the dentist every 2 years. My two sisters and brothers had some cavities but no major issues. I think it’s the healthy foods I eat when I was little…not sugar, pop etc. For the last few years I take different vitamins and try to eat healthy. Blessings Delfina 🙏🥰

  6. Every video I’ve seen is easy to understand and very educational. I find it so interesting. Everyone should know as much about their body as possible.

  7. As a woman with high blood pressure, this video and knowledge is very much appreciated Dr. Berg. Blessings ❤

  8. I used tons of salad dressing for flavour. Didn’t know what I was missing. I changed my style after using better greens and dressing them like Dr. Berg suggests.

  9. One addition IMPORTANT point: heat destroys vitamin C (as in “pasteurization”), so when you get your sauerkraut, find one that is raw or make it yourself.

    • @Nomadic Flag Folder Have my own ❤️ issues couple months ago. I’m angry and depressed feel like my body betrayed me Did you get stents? Anyways if you don’t feel like sharing I understand. Here’s to better health for both of us.

    • @Blue Spruce i started checking people with sauerkraut recipe blog and i saw one lady said you have to immerse the cabbage in a liquid to prevent spoilage.. maybe you need to put extra salt to get more water out of the chopped cabbages

  10. listening to dr Berg is like being in the classroom with the best professor discussing topic in its simplest and with clarity.

  11. Dr. Berg thanks for all you do to help folks out! Recently received a pretty high coronary calcium score and I wanted to ask you what diet would you recommend for this condition? I’m trying to follow the keto diet mostly. I’m already using your k2/d3, magnesium, and your probiotic/with prebiotic capsules.

  12. I have been eating wild caught salmon for over 2.5 years (sockeye and coho) twice a week. Always amazed finding out how beneficial it is

  13. Thank you, Dr. Berg! Always learn from your vids valuable information to keep my family and me healthy! ‘d be curious if there are other foods that are close to what arugula or salad can do. It’s very hard to find arugula in our local stores, and we’re moving toward winter. Other than growing my own, are there any other options?

  14. Dr. Berg, thank you for all your informative videos! My LDL has floated around 25-30 for the past decade on all my blood work. My HDL is around 40-45. Total Cholesterol is always 100-110 for reference. By having that low of LDL should I be worried long time? I was always under the impressive that LDL was bad cholesterol.

    • You have too low a cholesterol reading.
      Get it checked dear.

Low cholesterol is way worse than high cholesterol, ofcourse sugar inflammation are the other enemies.

  15. Very interesting. Certainly some things I plan to implement into my diet. The more I learn, the better choices I am making with my diet. Thank you, Dr. Berg!
