Unfortunately, heart attacks, strokes, and high blood pressure are common problems. So, today we’re going to talk about what causes arterial stiffness or calcified arteries.

Common causes of stiff arteries:
• Age
• Inflammation
• A high-carb, high-sugar diet
• Omega-6 fatty acids

There is one additional cause of hardened arteries that many people are unaware of, and it’s a vitamin K2 deficiency.

Vitamin K2 drives calcium into the bones to help make them stronger and keeps calcium out of the arteries and the walls of the arteries. Vitamin K2 may decrease the risk of heart attack by 50 percent.

Foods high in vitamin K2:
• Meats
• Organ meats
• Egg yolks
• Grass-fed butter
• Dairy
• Yogurt

Adding vitamin K2 to vitamin D3 is a fantastic way to support the arteries. For every 10,000 IU of vitamin D3 you take, you should also consume 100 mcg of vitamin K2.

It’s important to note that people who take a calcium supplement (1,000 mg or more a day), with or without vitamin D, increase the risk of a heart attack. This could be because of the lack of vitamin K2. It’s also important to keep in mind that one of the side effects of warfarin is vascular calcification.

To support the arteries, get on a low-carb diet, avoid omega-6 fatty acids, and consume foods rich in vitamin K2. If you take a vitamin K2 supplement, it may be best to take vitamin D3 as well.

  1. Good Morning, Dr. Berg ☕
Thank you so much for sharing this important Information with everyone , Have you a great day !

  2. Dr. Berg, we need more of your kind in this world. Thank you for all your great information, I myself can respect your advice and hard work that goes into it!

  3. Sauerkraut is fermented cabbage with a distinctive sour flavor. Like with natto, this fermentation process offers many health benefits, like promoting good gut health and boosting immunity. With 2.75 micrograms per half-cup, sauerkraut is also a great source of vitamin K2

  4. Hello Dr Berg,
Thank you very much for your videos teaching us how to properly take care of ourselves, sometimes it feels like walking through a minefield.
    Thanks

  5. Dr. Berg, I had lost all hope. Had difficulty breathing. All the time! I had gallstones, umanaged sugars and whatnot! On your recommendation I started taking your Gallbladder formula, D3&K2, ACV, Saeurkraut, Nutritional Yeast, and Benfotiamine. I feel great now! In fact, I feel I have been blessed with a fresh lease of life! Will I ever be able to thank you enough?

  6. I take Nattokinase in place of the chemical blood thinners and I am doing great with it. Warfarin made me lose my hair and the other caused pin point hemmorages. I even give it to my dogs who are older.

  7. Newer blood thinners are being used as a substitute for Warfarin in Australia. They don’t block Vitamin K to achieve blood thinning so there is no (vitamin K) antidote if you hemorrhage, which is a worry. I guess they eliminate the calcium buildup problem though. They have a shorter life than Warfarin so you have to wait it out if you have a bleed.

  8. Dr. Berg we all thank you. You’ve done all this research to help millions of people. You are teaching every individual that watches your video a better way on how to take care of themselves. You teaching everyone how to doctor them selves. You are amazing. Thank you thank you thank you. This information goes long way. Two healthy happy living.

    Happy health to everyone

  9. All my life I have had tartar problems. Within a couple of weeks from dental hygiene I would find my teeth full of tartar again despite careful hygiene with daily flossing. This was all my life. A few years ago I started taking vitamin K2 after reading about the potential benefits for tartar problems. I was very skeptical, but it doesn’t hurt to try. About 3 days after starting the supplementation, the tartar literally started to jump off while flossing, which had never happened in my life, and after about a week it was completely gone. I continue to take vitamin K2 and haven’t had a speck of tartar in years. I have never needed dental hygiene sessions again. All a gain in health and wallet.

  10. Dr Berg I want to sincerely thank you from the bottom of my heart, taking your advice and changing my diet has dropped my blood pressure so much in 30 days I’ve completely stopped taking my medication due to my BP being too low with it, I’ve also lost 18 pounds in that same time frame and feel better than I have in 20 years …again thx

  11. I’ve been taking the combo for about a month, and had an unexpected positive side effect. Chronic pain I have been having in my hip and some back and leg pains, for some years now, has mostly disappeared. I will take a magnesium and potassium, once in a while, but this is really the only change I have made. Hope this keeps up, because Wow!

  12. Dr you are a rare gem!! Thank you for being a real doctor and thank you once more for sharing your knowledge with people!!

  13. I’ve been taking 3000 IU’s of Vitamin D-3 for three years now. Recently I have viewed several videos about making sure that I also take Vitamin K-2 along with the Vitamin D-3. So, I called my family doctor’s office and asked for his opinion on this. One week later, a medical assistant called me to say that the doctor doesn’t recommend that. I asked why not and the medical assistant replied, “Because the doctor said that Vitamin D-3 does not clog arteries when taken without Vitamin K-2.
    Uh………….
    I’m confused.

  14. K2 mk-7 has been one of the most beneficial supplements I have added in the last few years. For my whole family 💚

  15. I really wish I’d known about k2 long ago. At 64 I’ve been taking calcium for many years due to osteoporosis. I’ve been on 4,000 iu D3 since Covid started. I only found about about k2 since my gp passed away in December and I started managing my own health and watching dr. Berg.
