Today I want to share the best natural protocol for seasonal allergies.

Pollen is produced by flowers and is spread through the wind and by bees. If you have a pollen allergy, your body is rejecting pollen.

During this rejection process, your body goes through a series of immune reactions involving histamines. Histamines cause excess mucus production and fatigue.

A good potential strategy is to gradually expose the body to pollen, starting with small amounts and increasing the amounts over time. This will cause the body to reject it less and less.

The best remedy for seasonal allergies to use as a part of this strategy is bee pollen. Local bee pollen contains a combination of many different types of pollen in your area.

Bee pollen is also a powerful anti-inflammatory, has wound-healing effects, and is rich in:
• Friendly microbes
• Amino acids
• Antioxidants
• Essential fatty acids
• Hormones
• Vitamins
• Minerals

You would want to start out with two to three grains of bee pollen per day and gradually increase the amount each day over at least one week.

Eventually, you may want to try taking two to five teaspoons per day for an adult and one to two teaspoons per day for a child. You can chew the grains, grind them, or soak them in water and drink them.

It may be best to start this protocol in the winter before the spring. You could do this protocol two to three times per year.

Other great natural remedies for allergies are quercetin, onions, or stinging nettle. It’s also important to support your liver if you’re experiencing allergies.

  1. You nailed it Doc.
People used to eat outside in the summer and pollen got in the food…..
    Keepemcoming Doc.

    Thank you Dr Berg!
    😺👍

  3. This is great to pass along to A LOT of my coworkers that have seasonal allergies.
I’m surprised at how many people suffer from this. And they are miserable during allergy season.

  4. I get lung congestion from tree pollen and I use holy basil and Neem leaf. Great relief in hrs. I’ve tried stinging nettle with little to no effect. Will try the bee pollen this time around. Thanks good sir.

  5. I have been adding 1 Tbs and 1 Tbs of nutritional yeast to my salads for years. Could be why I have not been sick with colds or sinus for 10 years now. Before that I was taking boxes of OTC allergy meds. Thank you for explaining this to us.

  6. I find it very interesting that many psychiatrists have linked traumatic childhood events to asthma, allergies, and general immune dysfunction/autoimmunity- due to the habits the physiological body gets itself into over time from stress responses. Not that having a traumatic childhood will cause you do have autoimmune issues, and vice versa- but it heavily increases the chances.

  7. As a beekeeper, I thank you for pointing this out, esp when to start. Many people come to me too late, when the allergies are raging.

Honey has pollen too. Again, if you take spring honey from your area in late winter you can really help decrease your allergies.

  8. Thank you for the gentle reminders…sometime we can ‘know’ things, but forget to act on them. You’re one of the best doctors out there, seriously….Thank you, thank you, thank you for sharing all this medical knowledge in layman’s terms.

  9. Great video Dr Berg. Note to viewers, bee pollen, because of its mineral content, is a good daily supplement, maybe half a teaspoon. Also, stinging nettle has the additional benefit of blocking the formation of dihydrotestone. Stinging nettle is also great for prostate health without harming the kidneys like saw palmetto.

  10. Had stomach for years. When stomach is really bad, allergies are crazy. When stomach is calmed down, pretty much no symptoms. Gut health is key.

  11. My husband and I are backyard beekeepers 😊 we eat a teaspoon of honey a day. Really helps with allergies.

  12. I live in Vegas and I’m allergic to mesquite tree pollen. With that being said, I’ve been getting allergy shots for the past year and a half with the hopes of building tolerance to. I actually go down to one shot a month in two weeks. Also, I picked up raw, local, honey too the other day. Hoping I can get some sort of relief from.

  13. THANK YOU, Doc!
This is our second Summer living in the “country”. No more allergy meds, almost no allergy symptoms AND the mosquitoes leave us alone.
We consume a quarter teaspoon of local honey every morning along with a few small pieces of honey fermented garlic (see channel: OFF GRID with DOUG & STACY).
    Game changer!!!

  14. Thanks Dr Berg. Your videos come just in time. I’ve been feeling awful with allergies feel like I’m dying. I started taking serrapeptase, zinc, copper, vitamin c and stinging nettle tea. I will add the others you mentioned. I do OMAD and consume lots of fruits vegetables and butter. I should be getting well soon.Thank you.

  15. As always awesome content Dr. ❤My mom was super allergic to anything and everything all her life. Once she starts to sneeze she will continue non stop for few days. She would take cetrizine and be drowsy all day. Finally I discovered quercetin. It was a game changer for her. She started taking 2 capsules per day. Hardly any allergic reactions sine she started that. Any flare ups were rare and when she has it we up her dose to 4 capsules a day and the symptoms are gone within a day. Will try bee pollen.

  16. Hi Doctor Berg, I just want to thank you for sharing your insights about having a healthier lifestyle <3 Thank God for you and what you do. Could you please make a video about biphasic sleep? I’m quite concerned about it because my lifestyle would be changed due to my work. Thanks again!

  17. I’m doing exactly what Dr has said , local honey, quercetin, bee pollen and this season is a breeze for me. I started treatment early in February and I’m happy to report good news for this season. Last year I thought I’ll die, this year I actually enhoy going out on The boat, I spend everyday outside! Thank you Dr Berg for this video!

  18. Thanks so much Dr. Berg for talking about the powerful pollen. I have been a beekeeper and apitherapist since 1990 and I cured my sinusitis in 6 months when my doctor couldn’t do it in 20 years. As you said pollen is rich in vitamins, proteins, minerals, fatty acids, etc. In 2009 I made a mono diet with pollen to prove how complete is pollen. I ate exclusively pollen for 6 months and I never felt so good in my life. The best way to take pollen is to mix it with acid (like lemon juice) and wait one hour before taking it with water. I have taken pollen every day at my breakfast since 1990. I also recommend it to my cancer patients. It is a good way to stop eating the wrong food which feeds cancer cells.😢

  19. Hello Dr. Berg thank you for all your good Contant . I wanted to let you know that I have always been allergic shots as a child and such and didn’t get rid of my allergies until I was 59 years old and stopped eating gluten. My rosacea also cleared up and I went on a ketogenic diet but still had a lot of food sensitivities last month. I discovered the carnivore diet and I have been doing fabulous since I started it I have had fluid retention since my 30s and I now have ankles. I am so happy, I also have a pacemaker sleep apnea which has resolved itself. Well, if you’re going carnivore, that food is what my body wants . Thank you so much for your detailed explanations. They have come in handy over the years.
