In this video, we’re going to talk about vitamins and supplements. Sometimes, health supplements are discredited because they’re not regulated by the FDA the same way as pharmaceuticals, but it's important to understand the relationship between the FDA and pharmaceutical companies.

People often become employees of the FDA to secure a much higher-paying career at a pharmaceutical company. This plays a major role in the approval of drugs.

Many drugs are approved without enough evidence of safety. Overall, supplements are generally recognized as safe.

In 1989, a dozen people allegedly died from taking L-tryptophan. L-tryptophan is an amino acid that helps you sleep, has an anti-depressive factor, and curbs cravings. The problem arose from a contaminated batch of L-tryptophan that was made using genetically modified bacteria. There was a recall, and the FDA banned the supplement for 16 years.

Synthetic vitamins are much cheaper than natural vitamins but do not have the same effects on the body. Around ⅔ of vitamins come from raw materials made in China, all of which are synthetic industrially made compounds.

There are several reasons why we need vitamins and supplements and why some people need them more than others. The following factors will increase the need for vitamins and supplements:
• Food is grown in poor soils or hydroponically
• Genetics
• Chronic inflammation
• Frequent exercise
• Seed oil consumption
• Grain consumption
• Veganism
• Fasting

We have a very high need for some vitamins and minerals that require a large consumption of certain foods to achieve adequate intake. For example, you need 4700 mg of potassium each day.

Some deficiencies can be dangerous. Deficiencies in folate can mimic the same damage to your DNA as radiation.

      If you’re not eating organic food, be careful. One ingredient foods if you can!

    • I love doctor bergs videos but his bbb score is so low. All the reviews are so bad and it seems his supplements make a lot of people sick.

    • @Mr-pn2eh  that doesn’t mean anything if he doesn’t have it analyzed by 3rd party it means nothing. Any legit company would have their products third party tested. If he’s not willing to do that, everything he’s saying means nothing because you have to have a third party confirm to prove that your product has what it says it has in it. I do not do trust me, bro logic or testing. You should always ask for a third party Certificate. And call up that third party company that tested the project to see if they actually tested it because a third party Certificate of analysis is a legal document, and if companies, are lying saying that they had this company or another company tested and they never did those companies will come after them.

  4. Gave back my medications years ago and started my own health journey. Changed my intake, started walking miles, started taking supplements haven’t looked back, lost 125 lbs, BP is normal and I haven’t been sick in a very long time. My once a year visit to the V.A. bloodwork has showed within range and normal for the last five years.

  5. I am a carnivore but I also try to supplement naturally with your whole lemon and wild blueberries bomb, nutritional yeast for B vitamins, and cod liver oil. I am also looking at growing sprouts for the phytonutrients. I wonder if I might be hyper concerned but I also exercise a lot and I am also older at seventy two. I have the highest priority to watch your videos, they’re the best for critical information.

    • I’ve grown micro greens for years. It is a great hobby and very nutritious. I am prone to calcium oxalate kidney stones. I did not get them from micro greens. Proud of you😊

Good morning Dr Berg, I use some of your supplements and also other organic supplements too, my life has change for better, people should read the labels and not go for cheap stuff also never trust any three letters government agencies period, never trust a media whatever so called expert says just do the opposite. Thank you Sir you are changing and educating millions of people.

Another interesting thing I just found out about – someone bought a nutritional joint formula from Walmart and apparently it worked too good giving instant relief So they recommended it to friends and family and everyone was talking about how amazingly fast it worked and someone brought up the question wondering if it laced with some drug. They reached out to me and asked what lab I used to test things. To make a long story short, it was found that this “natural” supplement contained traces of diclofenac, which is a NSAID: The point of this story is it is the wild west with supplements and brands that are nameless and difficult to reach out and learn about their ingredients might not be the best option.

    • It’s known as “The revolving door” — and it’s super common in all aspects of government regulation.. From car companies, to military armament, to food, to finance, to big tech, etc. The entirety of the political and social and institutional and industrial regulation economy is completely corrupted by design and beyond redemption.

  9. There is a deep problem at the root of all of this, profit.
    Its truly overwhelming to try take your health into your own hands. We should be able to trust the professionals to correctly advise and treat us but the lobby is powerful and too profitable to reflect truth.

    • We gotta take into our own hands.. medicine and the system is all broken. Dont put 100% trust on professionals and always do your research. Thats key for not being at loss.

      But do we also have to take our vehicle functionality into our own hands? And education of our kids?
      I agree we must educate ourselves and do our best, but you cant be an expert in everything, theres a limit to our time and capabilities.

      Even now “self educating” still involves putting trust in someone with more experience and knowledge.
      Its just frustrating moving against the current of monetary incentives all the time, especially regarding health that should be clear, scientific, free and unbiased.

  10. FDA was trusted by my mom, could not change her mind!!! After her trusted COVID-19 with boosters! She had a decline hearing, feeling her feet, walking ability was lost next, then her hearing loss. Very sad and she was so proud of getting that vaccine

  11. Im in my mid 20s . Ive had asthma, sciatica ,digestive issues, insomnia covid and many more illnesses.
    What ive learned is
    1.most doctors just want to drain my pockets.
    2. Diet and exercise is king
    3. Your mindset can keep you back, sometimes you can heal but if you keep THINKING youre sick , the symptoms won’t leave you. This happened with my sciatica.
    4. A good nights sleep is also KING.

    • I’m in my 50’s and have had digestive issues all my life. Natural doctors diagnosed me with low to no stomach acid (stomach acid is very much needed. The “acid reducing” pills are not your friend.) While the acid and enzyme therapy helped, I recently found that the absolute best thing for my digestion is Food Grade Diatomaceous Earth. Dr. Berg’s video about it really helped explain it and I have been taking it daily for over 4 months. If I skip a few days, my digestive system lets me know. (I use a small amount of water, 1 TBSP apple cider vinegar and a rounded tsp of DE. Stir it up, gulp down in 2 large gulps, drinking water after each gulp if needed.) Another thing that I believe is of great help is that we have been distilling our water for over 10 years and only drink it (we make everything with it; coffee, tea, etc.) My dad bought a WaterWise distiller back in 1997. I inherited his distiller when he passed in 2012. It lasted until 2021, with just a rubber seal replacement. We bought another right away and use it daily. (Usually distilling 3-4 gallons/day for our family of 4.) I suffered so long with digestive issues that I am sensitive to others that do as well. I hope this might help!
