    • Then you should actually do carb cycling. There is such a thing. That time has long passed for me too almost 10 years ago.

  2. Chicken livers are very mild tasting. Straight up beef will work well during that time. Love ground beef just about anyway. Tacos, burritos, burgers, I even used to make Beef Stroganoff with ground beef instead of sirloin.

    • I’m 66 and I only have a carb or more on holidays 1 or 2 times a year otherwise Carnivore. I lost 200 lbs but need 100 or 80 more off.

    • ​@@dorenewhitacre1908there is no essential carb. You can live your life doing keto or carnivore forever and you’ll be fine unless you have any underlying medical problems you don’t know about

  3. I love liver, its all about how you cook it and the seasonings. My mom makes it with onions as well. It just has a different kind of texture, but its good

  4. Im 65 years old and had a partial 20 years ago hysterectomy. Once a month I swear I go thru a horrible 2 day sweet craving just like before I had my surgery when I was close to that day of the month. What can I do about the carbs and that craving once a month???

  5. I was told the Follicular phase starts the first day of your menstrual cycle. So I Googled it just now and Google says the same thing. 🤔

  6. I’m 52 YO and just recently learned about one of the phases because I’m in peri-menopause. I started seeing a naturopathic doctor because my PCP & GYN don’t talk about these things. My naturopathic doctor was way more helpful with me to understand the changes my body is going through. Thank you, thank you for sharing this valuable information!

  7. What about those of us who are older? I’m 52 and my period is almost non-existant. Most months, I don’t even have one. (Also, Maya, 39 is NOT “late in life”! You’re still SUPER young! Heck, I didn’t have my last baby till I was 45! With no fertility clinic help, either. Completely natural conception! He’s 7 now. I had my 2nd baby at 41, almost 42. Also a natural conception. So, 39 is just the beginning of life!)

  9. Love this! Dr. Pelz book, fast like a girl is THE book and honestly should be given to every girl once she starts menstruating, not like me who is learning most things midlife. Also learned that iron can still be low if there is not enough copper, the main cofactor and harder to get, even heavy red meat and organ eaters can be low in iron. I learned about copper when I started supplementing with zinc for another reason, but needed it as a cofactor. 😊
