Today, we’re going to talk about berberine. People all over social media are calling berberine a natural Ozempic, but if you do a quick Google search, you may have doubts.

There are several claims that berberine can give you diarrhea, gas, constipation, and stomachaches, and can even be fatal in large amounts. There are also claims that berberine can’t work as a substitute for Ozempic because there isn’t enough research.

Berberine is a phytochemical found in various plants that has numerous health benefits, especially for blood sugar. It has even been compared to Metformin, a popular drug used to treat type 2 diabetes.

The potential health benefits of berberine:
• Helps with insulin resistance
• Helps lower blood sugar
• Helps to activate vitamin D
• Supports longevity
• Has antiarrhythmic properties
• Helps decrease the risk of a fatty liver
•Has neuroprotective properties
• Helps make chemotherapy/radiation more efficient
• Reduces gluconeogenesis

Many health problems are related to problems with the mitochondria. Berberine increases the number of mitochondria (mitochondrial biogenesis), helps clean up damaged mitochondria, and makes mitochondria more efficient.

Berberine, in small amounts, has very few, if any, side effects! Combined with keto, intermittent fasting, and exercise, you could experience significant results when taking berberine.

    • No Dr Berg is not the cure.
He does a very good job of explaining how the body works and the new research results.
We have to figure how to apply it into our personal life.

    • I mean, I really like his videos and content.
But if I don’t change my habits and figure out what applies in my life and how, it won’t really work.
      Information is fun.
But using the information brings results.

  1. Maybe. I’ve been taking 1 x berberine 500mg capsule daily for about a month. I’ve noticed I feel less hungry than during my last 5 years doing keto/carnivore with intermittent fasting.

  2. Berberine is good for killing bad bacteria such as sibo and candida as well. I googled it. Thats how i know 😅

    • @@condesabeatriz9303 I took Berberine Pro from Dr. Rajsree N for the first time on Saturday AM. Went to a bbq at a friends house. After eating, I had a massive stomach ache. Then I realized I just needed to use the bathroom. After that, no more tummy aches (fingers crossed)

  3. Still alive! 😂 When I take it consistently my blood sugar levels go down and I am not on metformin. I don’t know if it helps with blood pressure but my blood pressure has went to normal levels since taking berberine.

I told my doctors that they can see me for visits but I am not taking the medicine. (Metformin or any high blood pressure medicine). They are keeping a close eye on me to make sure that I am within normal levels without taking pharmaceuticals.

  4. How to lose weight naturally? Eat less carb, weight training, walk 30mins a day, cook your meal with natural ingredients and cut your calories.

    • Yes, but that requires people to actually take personal responsibility! We’re always looking for a quick fix, something to bring results without having to put in effort and make a change. What worries me about Ozempic etc., is that it does nothing to change eating habits. Berberine is something I might explore as a support, not an answer

    • That’s why mist everyone was skinny back in the day..no eating out everyday and more home cooking😊

  5. I’ve been taking Berberine for over a year and although it’s brought my A1C down from 6.4 to 5.5 without any changes in my diet I haven’t lost one ounce of weight. My PCP is very pleased with my results and told me to keep taking it!

  6. Very potent substance for weight control when combined with some form of moderate fasting, proper diet, and exercise. I’m at my ideal weight at 57.

  7. I stopped metformin.18 months ago and now take berberine combined with Keto, A1C went from 6.5 to 5.0

  8. Been taking an 8 hour Berberine for 2 weeks with the Panax Ginseng. I had a fasting blood sugar 14 days ago of 221. Yesterday it was 96. I have never had these results with Metformin which gave me raging Diarrhea and almost nothing with Glipizide. I hope you create this supplement together. I am on Keto. Went from 225 to 218 so losing weight as well. Awesome video!

    • @impeccableshoegame7029
NOW Panax Ginseng Extract, and Peak Performance Glucovantage Super Berberine. Dr Berg suggested the Ginseng with the Berberine for the Ozempic mimic effect in a previous video. There is 4 hour and 8 hour Berberine. I opted for 8 hours. More expensive but obviously worth it.

  9. I take berberine 2x 500 mg daily (metformin gave me extreme muscle pain after a few years ) and I use Ozempic. Only the last one made me lose some weight. Another tip is Alpha lipoic acid to help against or reverse (if its not gone too far) nerve damage. Main thing will always be cut down on carbs.

  10. Since I started combining L-carnitine and Berberine, I’ve lost a lot of weight and also gained muscle (protein diet + weight lifting, no cardio at all, and I mean AT ALL)
Also, somehow it’s been 2 years now without stopping… and I haven’t been ill once. That has never happened before in my life.

  11. I,have NAFLD (Fatty acid liver)
Use berberine, milk thistle and red yeast rice (gærris)
Combined with low aerobic and strength training, 7-8 hrs of sleep and IMF (18/6) with low carbs, high fibre and healthy fats + protein. Fat is flying off the most stubborn parts of my body (belly mostily)
    Tremendous effect…no side effects

  12. Yes, it can be the healthier option! I took berberine, it doesn’t cause nausea or digestive disorders like Ozempic, only that the limit dose I tested was 1.5 grams/day, descending at 0.5 mg/day. I do not know of side effects at higher doses, in terms of digestive/pancreatic tolerance or other systemic side reactions.
After 2 weeks, clinically I noticed a reduction in the severity of insulin resistance, in the sense of obtaining the desired results after the hypocaloric and normal hypoglycemic diet. I know immediately when a diet starts to work for me! And most importantly, the decrease was in centimetres, not the weight on the scale, and I lost visceral fat mass!

Thanks for all the excellent information on your site, Dr. Berg!

    😄

    • coincidentally I also associated S.O.D. (SuperOxide Dismutase) & Collagen Complex for cellulite, much improved. to me it is a real scientific discovery that gives results! I admit, administered in the short term, 4-6 weeks

  13. I’ve been taking berberine for 6 months now and I haven’t experienced ANY of those symptoms

  14. Your helpful advice has improved my health. Thanks for your continuous support, Dr Berg 🙏🏻❤

  15. Dr. Eric Berg, your dedication to health awareness is truly inspiring. Thank you for empowering countless individuals with invaluable knowledge and guidance on their journey to wellness. Your contributions to the health sector are making a real difference in people’s lives. Keep up the amazing work!

  16. I had asthma for 37 years. Tried all the possible medication you can imagine, been in a hospital several times.
Finally I watched a 3 min video dr berg made a few years ago, and that video put an end to my illness.
    God bless dr berg.
    This man is a diamond

    • @@fidelcatsro6948 I had a big deficiency in vitamin D and didn’t know. Any doctor in my entire life talked about vitamin D. And he showed how to breathe properly.
      Simple like that

    • @@thiagopedalinoIn chinese medicine it clears heat. People who have asthma type symptoms have heat in the lungs… It helps clear heat which is why it helps with inflammation.
