In this video, I’m going to tell you how to stop dental plaque formation in its tracks. Dental plaque is a biofilm of microbes. A biofilm is a calcium shell built to protect a group of microbes. Plaque is one of the primary causes of gingivitis, bad breath, and tooth decay. You can brush and floss regularly and still get plaque!

Your mouth contains the second-largest group of microbes in your body. The majority of these microbes are known as commensal, so they’re not necessarily friendly but also not unfriendly. If you kill them, you could end up with a candida infection or oral thrush.

Plaque develops when this friendly relationship turns into a pathogenic relationship. Dental plaque biofilms can develop under stress! Poor diet, sugar consumption, smoking, alcohol, and antibiotics can also contribute to dental plaque formation.

Certain chemicals can mimic antibiotics in the mouth. Ironically, chlorhexidine, the main chemical in mouthwash, mimics antibiotics in the mouth. It also increases acidity and the risk of tooth decay.

Fluoride is in the majority of toothpastes and our water supply. It’s been around for 60 years, but there have never been any randomized controlled trials on fluoride in our water.

Fluoride is not controlled by the FDA, CDC, EPA, or the American Dental Association—it's controlled by a private entity. It’s best to filter your water to remove fluoride.

You’ll want to get the good microbes back into your mouth to remove dental plaque. Consume probiotic-rich foods like kimchi, sauerkraut, and kefir.

If you chew gum, make sure to choose xylitol gum.

  1. Wow. Just got scaling done yesterday! And hated it. This video is so timely. Thankyou Dr Berg! ❤

  2. This was direct, precise but very informative at the same time, direct to the point !!!. Another W for DOC BERG🤝🏿🤝🏿🤝🏿🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥

  3. I brush my teeth only with distilled water and I don’t have tartar or plaque around my teeth. I think it has something to do with tap water. Thank you for shedding light on Flouride. I’ve wanted to get a whole house distiller and I only drink distilled water as well. I do eat a lot of veggies and fruit as well and that’s where I get my minerals.

    • Funny u mention this, I put distilled water in a spray bottle yesterday and sprayed some on my toothbrush n toothpaste this a.m. while brushing. I’m curious to find out how it works out as far as plaque

    • I do the same… Just started (a few months ago) using distilled water when brushing my teeth. Something in my spirit just said to start that. Thank you for saying that.

    • Same, and I only drink distilled water. I don’t need, or trust some water company adding big bags of minerals to their water.

    • Coconut oil, baking soda and Redmonds salt for me. No tartar. Of course, I eat no artificial or processed foods either.

  4. Wonderful advice, I never heard that approach and it makes sense ! Thanks Dr. Berg ! and…bonjour from France 🇫🇷 !😊

  5. I watched a documentary on fluoride is a byproduct from making aluminum and they had a problem getting rid of this byproduct and came up with the ideal solution by putting it in the water.

    • Now that is evil, person who allowed it was in the health department, over it, was also part of the corporations making the fertilisers

    • Holy shyt I just asked Chat GPT and you are right 😳

      You:
Is it true that industry is putting the flouride byproduct into water to get rid of it?

      ChatGPT:

Yes, that’s correct. Fluoride compounds, including those generated as byproducts in industrial processes like aluminum production, are sometimes added to public water supplies as a means of fluoridation. This practice is intended to improve dental health by reducing tooth decay. However, the addition of fluoride to drinking water is a subject of debate and can vary by location and local regulations.

ChatGPT can make mistakes. Consider checking important

    • Yes, you’re right, that which is dumped into our water supply and used in dentistry is sodium fluoride, a byproduct of aluminium product, however, it’s not being dumped in our water supply just by chance they know exactly what it does it lowers the IQ and it’s subdued the masses that used to use it against the Jews in Germany. Not to be confused with naturally occurring calcium fluoride.

  6. My husband and I have been married for over forty years and of course use the same water and eat pretty much the same foods, except my husband eats way more sugar! I asked our hygienist why his report is always excellent and why I always have a lot of plaque. She told me that some people just naturally make more plaque than others.??🤷‍♀️

    • It’s true. The only thing that works for me is brushing lightly 2-3 times a day and then the key here is to rinse with a little listerine or booze. Kidding about booze but I bet the alcohol would work too. (grin) Anyway, Listerine is probably terrible for your mouth but as an expert on plaque its the only thing that keeps it in check for me. ive been dealing with since birth. Tried it all even what berg mentioned. Tried full carni, you name it. Genetic. Dentist every 4 month and Listerine keep me plaque free. Maybe will help you if still an issue

    • It has to do a lot with mouth ph which varies from person to person; breathing habits, saliva composition, etc. And what bacteria live in your mouth as well im sure. One way in which fermented foods make a difference is that they are acidic; which is a great way to get rid of tartar. It dissolves it really fast; but not only your tartar of course. I started restricting my fermented food intake last year when I got very sensitive teeth due to thinning enamel. I was able to reverse that in a few months luckily; but sure enough my tartar buildup also went up. The dissolution vs precitipation of calcium in your mouth is a balance; and frankly id rather be a bit on the tartar-accumulating side of things. If you buy the right tools (soft metals, no hard steels) you can teach yourself to remove tartar safely, and its nothing too bothersome.

    • @@J.o.e_Ktequila seems to be the best , whenever I have a big night on the tequila my teeth always look better

  7. Lived in the first city to ‘ever’ add fluoride to city water… Grand Rapids, MI. A real Dutchie CRC place… and next to the hamlet where CRC was founded. Talk of decay, tooth or otherwise. There was a big uproar by the people to no avail, tho but moments before my arrival on the scene. My Mother in Law of health nut quality, ran an health food store. Cursed the stuff till her passing… They forced this stuff down our gizzards my entire city life. Man being the toxic waste dump for profit… it is actually so potent. Those that dump bags into your drinking supply are chemical/bio-hazard protected to the max… just one inhalation of said magic elixir and you are no more in need of a dentist forever…

  8. I had my teeth cleaned last week. My hygienist insisted on using a fluoride treatment and I refused. She went on to question me as to why I was against it. When I told her what I think about fluoride she got upset, then I showed her which toothpaste I’m using since she says my oral health is getting better and better. She got even more upset when she saw there’s no fluoride in it 😂 and proceeded to give me one that contains fluoride.

  9. Dr Berg for the last three to four years my health has severely started deteriorating. More recently I’ve been experiencing significant low neck pain, upper back and shoulder pain.. joint pain, hip pain, internal aches and woke up every morning feeling like a dumpster fire. I saw your video about you getting an infected tooth removed and it cleared your pain and I thought i wonder if my dental care is contributing to this since NOTHING was helping. I didn’t have tooth pain. Got X-rays and sure enough I had an upper molar with a huge cyst in my sinus cavity. I had oral surgery Monday and literally my body feels 90% better! Your videos turn on light bulbs for us. I never would have correlate the two! Thank you

    • Awww. Yay! So glad you figured out your issue there! Dr. Eric Berg is amazing!! We need soooo many more doc’s like him in the practice, badly… Keep doing what you’re doing Doc!!! You’re helping so many more people than you know.

    • I have less than that, only a crooked tooth that hurts, and my shoulders are in pain, and can’t restfully sleep. That’s like the thorn in my eye since it’s like a nail thats poking out from a wall. It even stops me from talking much because it bothers me.

    • Hello, so glad you are feeling better and the information was helpful. Thanks for sharing here. Keep up the good work!

  10. They were even selling fluoride baby water. Shocking how long people can get away with crimes in the this country.

    • This country? Is all over the world man. Here in my country Chile, the levels of fluoride and chloride are huge in the water. And the most disgusting thing about it, is that in the south we have the purest rivers and lakes, so there is NO NEED for such things!

    • And so many people who, like sheep, just follow along with anything they’re told, without doing their own research. When it comes to your body and health, check into whatever you are told, especially by the mainstream media!

    • @@MLM111 Water in Arizona that you pump out of the ground? Or that falls from the Heavens? Or that a government agency pumps to you out of sight?

  11. His Homemade Toothpaste Recipe From the Linked Video: n1) 1 tsp cold-pressed virgin organic coconut oiln2) 1/2 tsp Aluminum-Free Baking Sodan3) 1/4 tsp 3% food-grade Hydrogen Peroxiden4) 3-Drops Cinnamon, Clove or Mint Oil.

  12. Dr. Berg’s advice has made a HUGE difference in my life. Bless you sir. Please NEVER stop fighting the good fight. 🙏

    • We watch the same videos. I’ve been seeing you comment in the Ukraine war videos on either Weeb Union or MFAN.

  13. Jons Hopkins have a study on rats teeth which became more brittle after fluoridisation. The study happened about 100 years ago after it was noticed in the 1800s that fluoride attaches to the skeleton which is the body’s way of shunting it to a part of the body that will not make the soft tissues toxic. The study attempted to establish whether or not fluoride strengthened bones by that affinity but fluoride is less dense than calcium, therefore it could be a contributory factor toward osteoporosis. In India there is a lot of naurally occurring fluoride in the ground and most often it is women who suffer from skeletal malformation of that.

  14. I brush my teeth with toothpaste and a drop of tea tree oil. The last 6 trips (6 years) when I go for a cleaning the hygienist just praises me and says “There’s nothing to clean” . I swear by this.
